If you’re a fan of mountain views and chalet-style living, Whistler is the place to be in Canada.

The shape and exterior cladding of the house may differ from others in the immediate area, but the views…maximized and always stunning!
Unfortunately, this fabulous property, designed by Battersby Howat, is a private residence. But there are plenty of chalets that provide pampered vacation destinations for those who want to enjoy the views and/or outdoor adventures.

Clerestory windows flood the open concept main level with light. I love the warmth of the cherry against the stark poured concrete walls and simple finishes.
The home was carefully laid out so as to maximize views of nature rather than neighbours.

The cherry, which flows throughout the home, does not feel excessive. In this room, it conceals ample built-in storage.
And like all chalets, there are lots of luxurious touches.
I’d be more than happy to house sit should the need ever arise!

This house is absolutely stunning! How close to the village is it, do you know? I’ve been up to Whistler a few times during the off season and I know quite a few of the chalet properties up that way can be pretty exemplary. I’m a huge fan of interior design and architecture and I’ve definitely seen some great projects.
Have you worked on similar projects previously?
