A retro-inspired piece for those who remember the cassette tape, the Mixtape Table was designed by Jeff Skierka Designs (JSD). The prototype table is an exact 12:1 scale replica of a cassette and is reversible, featuring both an A and a B side.
Currently, the one-of-a-kind piece is made of reclaimed maple, walnut, and lucite. JSD expects future versions to be machined from a variety of high-grade plywoods and glass.
I love the look of the table and can think of at least one application where I would love to incorporate into a future project. My only request to JSD… please keep the reclaimed wood and lucite!

Very nice. It is retro-modern. Good post.
Very unique! It’s an “era” that is becoming extinct. Saw a cassette player in Walmart the other day and it looked so strange….especially in the midst of all the ipods, iphones, bluetooths, etc.
You Matter!

Cool design. I especially love that it has a Side A and a Side B.
People who are into music would live this!
I like this design, great detail and workmanship….very impressive.
For someone like me, who prefers listening to vinyl and has quite the collection of actual mix tapes from my school days, I would love to have this unique table in my house one day! It’s beautiful!
Interesting design. I bet some of the younger ones are saying “What in the world is that?”
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!! sometimes its good to recognize the past lol

A beautiful piece by Jeff Skierka Designs. The cassette tape details are carved out in perfect geometrics. Using reclaimed maple, walnut and lucite, they sync together in a muted harmony of colour tones. The glass top and legs gives it both the functionality of a table and brings back the basic elemental feel of a plastic cassette tape.
Very cool, but I’m going to hold out for the 8-Track coffee table.
That’s awesome. My iPhone cover looks exactly like an old cassette, too, and I get a ton of compliments and offers to buy it. Although it’s a little sad that cassettes are considered “retro”…
This is awesome! I’d love it as a bed-head
I would love to have that table! That looks awesome!

A table!
Neat idea! It might also be nice to integrate some speakers in the interior so it could be a mixtape table/soundsystem.
Such genial and original idea!
it’s not just cool on the outside, also in the inside!

WOW. With the Millennium Falcon and USS Enterprise tables recently making the rounds, these seem to be very much in vogue. Seriously nice work.
Dope, to use an era-appropriate term. ; )
wooww!! thats really cool.. i want it also!!
That is perhaps the most original furniture concept I’ve ever seen! You’re taking a bygone media format (audiocassette) and making a table whose top looks just like it!
Astonishing!

This Mixtape Table is coolest thing that I saw on WordPress. It reminds me of the stuff that I made in older years since I was a teen. I still making blank tapes today for my favorite jams from old to new. Mixtapes are awesome. I love this post. It’s like the best post ever.
That’s awesome.
looking for high c,
on my mixed tape sides a and b.
electric sliding, the young flee.
and, i bump a knee.
So cool!
Whoa, cooool! I’d love to have one!
All I want to know is where can I get this? I faintly remember tapes I was born just as they were fading out but I love all things retro. If you get some time, I’d love to have you by my blog.

Brilliant! Now how about a desk designed around the 8 track filled with Ktel selections?
Cool! A dubtape from vinyl still sounds the best.
Love this… how about a round one that looks like a vinyl record? One for the kitchen, one for the dining room.
Love this table! So unique!
This is awesome! An A and B side. Nice woodworking.
this is really cool.
That is AMAZINGLY RAD!!!!!
Shine on~
Very nice table, indeed. I still have some of my CTs and they still play wonderfully. Thanks for posting.
Need one ASAP!
I want one too! I agree, it should stay as wood. I love how it looks!
Nice and inspired piece of work. It’s a tribute to the form of a cassette tape!
aw. does anyone make mixtapes anymore?? i still make mix cds, and i barely find anyone who even does that. but this! this brings back great memories. thanks for sharing.
How fun, and delightfully retro.
This brings back some kind of memories. I agree w/the commenter who mentioned seeing the cassette player in a store amongst all the techno gadgets. I thought the same thing the other day when I saw one: Wow, has it really been that long since anyone used one of these? Same w/telephones, although I still have mine and plan to keep it until it becomes extinct. Nice piece of artwork; wouldn’t mind displaying this in a room at home.
I agree, this is nostalgic. I used to record from Casey Kasem’s Top 40 then re-cut into mixed tapes (I was in my early teens and had no money to buy music). Very cool, now how about a diamond disc?
This is sick. I can think of a lot of cross-media ways to make this one’s own. I would love to build it myself–is there anywhere to get the specs?
To my knowledge, only Jeff has the design. I know his team will be in touch when the tables are available for purchase, so check back for updates…

Totally cool. Love the retro style and the fact that you can flip it over for the A or B side. I wonder if one side would get more play than the other like the cassettes did back in the day.
Great piece for those like me, who grew up in the 80s. Someday a CD version will pop up, later a USB and I am sure none of that will ever be that charming ..
Very innovative. Congrats on being freshly pressed

I love this, its so unique. I’d like it to have my favorite songs/album etched on, but that’s just me. I’d buy it as it.
How cool would this be? Coming home from work, making a brew and putting it on your mix-tape table in the lounge (with a coaster, of course!).
